Come along as I show you all my favorite goodies from Azure Standard. Eating healthy doesn’t have to be expensive. Thankfully, Azure offers great prices on organic, real food.

As you may know, I’m a naturally frugal person (which is how we were able to pay off our old house in less than 5 years and pay cash for our new farmhouse).

I hate spending money unnecessarily, but one thing that we do spend some money on is healthy food. This is really an investment into our future.

I do a lot of our shopping at Aldi, and I also try to purchase many things locally, like milk and honey. Yet, there are still many gaps that I can’t fill between these two places.

Buying in bulk is a great way to get a good deal on products, and it’s usually better for the environment (less packaging).

Azure Standard is one of my favorite ways to shop online. The prices are great, and they can ship directly to my door (you can also pick up at a drop-off store).

Below, I’m going to share with you some of my favorite items to buy from Azure, as well as some things I would buy if I didn’t already have a good local source.

Note: the links below are affiliate links. This means I make a small commission if you purchase through those links.

Why I Love Azure Standard:

  • Affordable.
  • High standard of products: most of the products they offer are organic.
  • Convenient: I’m a busy mom, and having healthy groceries delivered right to my door takes one thing off my plate.

How Does Azure Standard Work?

Azure is just like a big warehouse store, like Costco or Sam’s Club, but without a storefront and without paying for a membership. They connect you directly to local farmers, including their own farm which allows them to offer such great prices.

To get started, just create an account and start shopping.

After you’ve created your order, you have the option to ship directly to your house (my preferred option, but you have to pay for shipping) or pick up at a local drop sight (usually free). Choose a drop site that is closest to you, and then pick up all your food conveniently at one place.

What I Buy From Azure Standard

Dairy Products

Our weekly trips to our local dairy are one of our family’s favorite errands. But the delicious cream skimmed off the top of the milk to make sour cream, butter, and the best homemade yogurt is a hot commodity, only available very rarely (and first come first serve). When it’s not available, Azure offers many raw and grass-fed organic dairy products.

Cheese: We love this raw cheddar cheese. It is a great deal for a raw grass-fed product.

Milk: I know having a good source of milk can be difficult. We love our local source of raw milk, but if that isn’t available, Azure Standard offers grass-fed A2/A2 milk.

Sour cream

Cream cheese

Yogurt

Butter

Cream

Grains

Bulk grains – These might be for grinding, like wheat berries, einkorn berries, rye berries, etc.

Popcorn – For popping as a snack, or you can use your grain mill to make corn bread.

Quinoa – This is technically a seed, and it can be cooked for easy weeknight meals like healthy quinoa nachos, or this beef spinach quinoa skillet.

Oats

Rice

Einkorn products: If you are wanting to switch to more einkorn products, but aren’t wanting to make pasta from scratch, you can try Jovial’s variety of einkorn products. From crackers to pasta to cookies, it’s easy to incorporate our favorite heirloom wheat.

Nuts & Dried Fruit

I love buying nuts in bulk, and through Azure, you get a better price and excellent quality. Always having them on hand makes it easy to whip up some homemade granolafruit and nut bars, or these rustic granola cookies.

Pecans

Walnuts

Almonds

Cashews

Dates – For the best date sweetened ice cream.

Other dried fruits – Cherries, raisins, figs, mangos (one of my favorite treats), cranberries, blueberries, etc.

Baking Goods & Supplies:

Parchment paper and cupcake liners

Cornstarch

Salt

Maple syrup

Honey: We usually try to stock up on local, but if you can’t find a local source, Azure has a great price on honey.

Cane sugar: To make water kefir soda and kombucha.

Coconut sugar: This is usually my go-to for baking when honey can’t be used.

Oils & Vinegar:

Avocado oil is my preferred cooking oil, since it has a high smoke point. I also love using it to make homemade mayo.

Olive oil

Organic apple cider vinegar

Balsamic vinegar– If you use a lot of this, you can save a ton by getting the gallon jug.

Coconut aminos – They do also have soy sauce, but we prefer to avoid soy products.

Animal Feed:

Chicken Feed: This Organic Scratch And Peck Chicken Food is a great deal. It is $3 cheaper than at a local feed store.

Organic goat feed: They have premixed organic goat feed already available. I plan to try my hand at creating my own goat feed, using ingredients available through Azure.

That is just a sneak peak into some of my favorite things to order from Azure. If you have your own favorites, please leave a comment below!

Don’t forget produce!

Azure always has excellent deals on seasonal produce. This changes with the seasons, so just check out Azure’s homepage, and usually the best deals will be featured there.

Right now, as I write this, cherries are in season and on sale!

Hello! I haven’t bought from Azure before and am considering doing so. You sometimes have a first time user discount code on your podcast. Do you have one at the moment? Thank you!

    1. Lisa Bass says:

Yes, the discount code is SPRINGFARMHOUSE10

      1. Jenn says:

Do you have a more recent one or does this one work still?

  2. Haylie Lang says:

    What is your Azure code?

      1. Haylie Lang says:

I’m already a customer so they say I can only add you if I use a promo code? No worries if not:). Just figured I’d see if you had one. Would love to support you after years of being a follower:)

Hi Lisa, love your content. Do you have recommendations with Thrive Market? I love Azure products, but the shipping is pricey for me even though I pick up at a drop off site. I have a Thrive membership and I enjoy seeing your recommendations as they are on point with what I would like for my family. Thanks!

    1. Lisa says:

Yes, I should have a post relating to Thrive Market! I buy a variety of things from there too.

  4. Mariana says:

    Hi Lisa,

Is there a specific grain mill you recommend? The one’s I have seen are so expensive! Thank you!

    1. Lisa says:

      I like the Nutrimill!

  5. Alicia says:

My Azure drop isn’t free. Are you sure drop sites are free? My last order had a $42 shipping fee on a $500 order (about 8%). When you add that in, it’s hard to see which is more affordable, Thrive or Azure.

    1. Lisa says:

Wow! I’m really surprised by that. If you are having it shipped to your house it usually cost money, but if you are having it be a part of a already established drop site it usually doesn’t cost extra. At least that is my experience. Maybe contact Azure.

      1. Amelia says:

I think it depends on your Azure route. I’m in Utah and our route has an 8% shipping fee too.

        1. Kristen says:

And where I’m at in Idaho there is no drop fee. I wonder why it’s so different, in different areas?

      2. Alycia says:

Our drop has always had a shipping fee as well. We live in SE Iowa but pick up in NE MO. I can’t imagine them being able to ship for free.

    2. Nicole A says:

I’m in El Paso and shipping is not free. I paid about 30 bucks for a $350 order. I realized the more you buy the more you pay to ship lol. I had some heavy items.

      1. Lisa says:

That’s interesting! Our shipping has always been free because we drive to a meeting spot where enough people have placed an order. It all arrives on a big truck and we pickup our orders.

        1. Savannah says:

My drop off location is free here in central California. But it was about $70 for shipping an order about $150.

          1. Lisa Bass says:

Oh wow. We don’t have to pay any shipping charges typically because so many people order in my location.

        2. Marge says:

It is on their website, it varies by state. A group drop has a minimum order of $550 but shipping is also added.
Do you have any shipping fees?
If you are on a route that’s farther away from Oregon, you will have an 8.5% shipping surcharge added to your invoice. You can approximate your total charge by taking the grand total and multiplying it by 1.085. The following states have this surcharge to each order due to the long distance from Azure’s warehouse; AL, AR, AZ-east, CO, CT, DC, FL, GA, IA, ID, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MA, ME, MD, MI, MN, MO, MS, MT-east of Missoula, NC, ND, NE, NH, NJ, NM-east, NJ, OH, OK, PA, RI, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, VT, WI, WV, WY.

  6. Katy P says:

When ordering the cheese, do they package it pretty well with cold packs? Do you usually order the cheapest shipping method and does it get to your house without melting? I love your blog, podcast, and videos and get so much inspiration for homesteading and being a mom from you!

  7. Kelly says:

Have you compared these prices to thrive market? I love how everything is all in one place. Thrive is mostly pantry. Always looking for more tools to have as a mom trying to give her kids better choices!!

    1. Molly says:

Thrive has better prices in a few things but not a ton. They do offer free shipping though over $49 where Azure does not. I think it really comes down to what you buy, for a lot of my pantry stables Costco is way cheaper. However they offer a lot less organic and allergen free options.

      1. Melissa says:

Azure offers free shipping to certain areas.

I enjoy your Facebook posts. Beautiful family.
