You may know by now that I have a deep love of all things sourdough. But using sourdough at breakfast may be one of my absolute favorites.

I’m not a planner by nature, and many times, as long as I have a few basic ingredients, like eggs, milk, and sourdough starter, I can whip up a seriously delicious breakfast in no time flat.

Not only is it delicious, but also nutritious and highly filling. The perfect combination for what you need in a filling farm breakfast. You know, something to nourish your belly and keep you full while you are busy doing farm chores.

I know not everyone is doing farm chores, but everyone needs a filling breakfast. Here are 30+ sourdough breakfast ideas.

OMG. As a long time sourdough baker i have always wanted a pancake/waffle recipe that matched my non-sourdough recipe. I have also wanted it to be JUST sourdough for leaven but finally broke down and did your recipe with just that 1t soda. I WILL NEVER make pancakes any other way! Also was so easy to feed my “Sneeky Pete” starter put away my normal starter and feed the rest of my discard from pancakes this morning! so easy to my normal schedule. thank you

I love all your help with sourdough and recipes. I have a thought / wonder. I am growing mushrooms from Nearby Naturals, just getting ready to harvest blue oyster mushrooms for the first time. We love sourdough pizza, my question could you make sourdough omelets on the pizza stone? I would love to make omelets with my harvested mushrooms. Have you ever made omelets this way? What do you think?

    1. Katie says:

You probably could on a preheated stone, but it would be incredibly messy. I would suggest using a skillet. I use a cast iron skillet for my egg dishes including omelets. The key to eggs not sticking is properly seasoning and greasing the skillet before cooking and getting the skillet HOT before putting anything into it to cook. This goes for any skillet, not just cast iron.
